Dog-Dog On Lead Reactivity

Do you dread taking your dog for a walk incase you bumped into another dog walker?

We completely understand as we have all been there!!

You will likely need to start with a behaviour assessment so we can look at why your dog is behaving this way. They can become reactive for many different reasons so an ideal first step is to find out why they are doing this.

Click HERE to read about the behaviour assessment process.

Below you will find information on the other services we provide for dogs that lunge and bark on their leads at other dogs once they are ready for this stage of training.

Level 2 Relax; Don’t React Class practicing calm walk bys.

Relax; Don’t React Training Course

This is an extra special class as Natalie teams up with Clinical Animal Behaviourist Gemma from Natures Companions to deliver a 6 week programme teaching you the skills you need to tackles those troublesome walks!

2 of the most highly qualified and experienced behaviourists in your area teaching a group of 4 reactive dogs.

The only requirement is: Can your dog be on the other side of a main road and still be able to take treats or play with a toy when another dog is in sight? If yes, we can cater for you in this class without a more formal behaviour assessment (we conduct a mini one in week 1).

The 6 week course is spread over 12 weeks (the sessions run fortnightly on a Saturday morning in Keelby, Grimsby).

Each course works through one level of our Reactivity programme (there is 4 levels in total, each level increases in its difficulty).

The 6 week course is £250 (payment plans can be arranged)

Stooge Dog Sessions

What are they?

A session where we bring our dogs to a training session so you can practice around a real dog in a controlled and predictable manner!

Who are they for?

Dogs that lunge and bark at other dogs or dogs that are too excited around other dogs they can't focus on their owners.

Why are they beneficial?

It helps you practice your handling skills and allows you to rinse and repeat your training technique to allow your dog to establish some solid learning. Unlike the 30 seconds opportunity you sometimes get on a walk.

These are run on select dates only. They are a 45 minute 1-1 session, where you will have a trainer working with you and a trainer handling a stooge dog.

These are predominately for existing clients with reactive or over excitable dogs but new clients are also welcome to book but we will allocate you an hour slot so we can get to know you, your dog and your training goals before we start. However, these should not be used instead of a behaviour assessment as this is a set up context designed for practice and will not mimic your daily walks so we won’t fully understand your context.

Prices: £45 for existing clients, £70 for new clients.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a very popular service and gets booked up in advance.

Group Training Walks

When you get to this stage, you know you’ve made super progress!!

These sessions are invite only as your dog needs to be at a certain stage in their training journey for these to be benficial to you and your dog!

Train and Walk - Group of 4 dogs, £20 per dog

These group walks are all about putting all that hard work into practice.

Natalie gets together 4 of her clients and we meet at a public location. We spend half an hour going over some training exercises as a group and then we go for a half an hour walk together to find some other local dog walkers to put our training to the test.

Social Walks - £10 per dog

These social walks are all about meeting up with fellow reactive dog owners (but by this point they aren’t really reactive anymore!) and going for a nice hours walk in a new location.

You put your own training into practice as we walk along under the watchful eye of Natalie. We will do little activities along the way but its mainly about having a nice relaxing walk with other dogs which before you started training likely felt impossible.
